Had a bit of a scare with the scale today... :)
For a brief fraction of a second, as the digital numbers settled on my morning's weight, the numbers seemed to freeze on 179.5, before finally settling on 180.0lbs. I got off the scale, reset it, and stood on it again just to be sure I wasn't seeing things, and sure enough...
180.0lbs
Wow. I never expected to be able to get my weight this low ever again... certainly not without having to remove an arm or a leg in the process! :) That's now 47lbs lost since early April of this year, and 78lbs lost from my highest weight that I was willing to record a couple years ago (that's more than my 8yr old daughter weighs right now!!!).
I know how I'm maintaining my weight now: smaller portions eaten during meals - no seconds; if eating out - take half home for later; running about 2 hours a week (30-45 min a couple days a week); significant reduction in all junk food; and walking for 30-60 minutes each weekday at work.
But GETTING here - that clearly has been the grace of God. It was the dramatic 40lb drop in 60 days that was most noticably His intervention in my life in April and May (thanks!), and then a partnership of responsibility that I now participate in to maintain it.
Grace: unmerited assistance from God, given to humans for their regeneration or sanctification.
Yep - that about sums it up. Thanks God!
