Getting Ready for my First Race

I've decided to enter Nike's The Human Race 10K event in Vancouver this coming 31-Aug-2008. It will be my first real race, and I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Time to start training!

I have registered myself and my wife (double bonus to my charity ninemillion.org), but because she still can't run due to her accident injuries, I'm going to wear both running chips, and run the race for her. :) This race is going to be amazing - it's 31 cities, 1 million runners, and we're all running at exactly the same time! Vancouver starts at 7pm, and around the world other cities in the list are running at whatever local time matches 7pm Vancouver time. Such a neat idea.

She has no idea at this point, but I'm going to surprise her with her race package the day before the race. I want her to know how much of an inspiration she has been for me to get in shape and try new things... and I'm actually enjoying running!

Today's Runs
Distance 2.39km - Duration 16'25" - Pace 6'51"/km - Calories 207
