Back from a week at Vegas! No time to run while in Vegas; I spent time with the wife and kids instead (YAY!), and by the time it got to be evening and the kids were in bed, the fitness facility was closed. However, got lots of good walking time in!
Today was a bit of an overcast and rainy day. Great weather for a morning run, was about 20C outside; nice and cool and the rain wasn't heavy. Went for my longest run today - up 240th street (for the hill practice), all the way to Dewdney Trunk, and then back home.
Was feeling terrible the first 2km (always my worst part of each run - especially after a week off); but by 6km I was feeling good, and by 8km I could have easily done another 2km. Will keep doing portions of this run each day this week to prep for next Sunday!
Ran again this evening - more rain (LOL) - but extended my run to race length to see if I could manage it, and I did (10.11km)! Even managed to take fewer walking breaks, and managed a slighly better pace!
Yay! I feel confident I can cross that finish line in about 1hr 15min.
